Saturday March 21, 2026, The Fatima Islamic Society, in association with Build Plus Community Market(Sister Wajeha Bilal, PRESIDENT & Sister Aneesah Al Hasan Board Member) hosted a community food drive that made a meaningful impact on local families in need. Together, the two organizations came together to serve 40 families, providing them with a thoughtful assortment of essential goods. Each family received a selection of nutritious staples, including ground beef, chicken breast, and eggs, along with important hygiene necessities such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and toilet paper. This collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to the well-being of the community, ensuring that families had access not only to wholesome food but also to the everyday personal care items that are often overlooked in times of hardship.

In a powerful display of compassion and community solidarity, the Fatima Islamic Society is proud to announce its upcoming Food Drive, organized in partnership with LA Family Housing. Rooted in the Islamic principles of charity (Zakat) and service to humanity, this initiative aims to combat food insecurity and uplift our neighbors experiencing homelessness or housing instability. By collecting non-perishable food items and essential supplies, we seek to provide immediate relief and dignity to vulnerable individuals and families in Los Angeles. Through this collaboration with LA Family Housing, we hope to embody the true spirit of giving, demonstrating that our faith calls us to be a source of nourishment and hope for all, regardless of background or belief.
